A superb wallet-style binding presented by Annie Moore to her brother, James. R. Moore, probably after he was released as a Prisoner of War and returned to Washington D.C. before mustering out again.
Likely James. R. Moore [b.1842, TX, d. Genesee Falls, NY], mustered into Company F. Third Infantry, New York in 1864. He served the remainder of the War, was taken Prisoner, and released after the War's end.
Unusually fine Bible for a Civil War soldier. The majority carried a simple American Bible Society pocket New Testament in cloth. And a very touching example from his sister.
