Impressive beaded necklace from the Chanel 1999 Spring Collection. It is strung with an assortment of resin beads made to resemble organic stones in hues that range from amber to pale champagne to clear rock quartz. Strung in between these beads are tiny gold-plated flower seperators which add subtle luxury and demonstrate Chanel’s polished eye-for-detail. Suspended from this string of beads is a large cross composed of three large resin stones in a pale champagne shade, held in place with gold-plated studs. These frame a circular topaz resin stone which is crowned with Chanel’s double-C insignia in gold-plated metal. The pendant attaches to the chain with a gold-plated loop, carved carefully to look like multiple hoops. The reverse of the cross is also detailed with a plain topaz stone which means it can be worn either way around. This necklace is secured with an elaborate gold-plated hook-and-eye clasp at the back of the neck, finished with a stamp on the back with the Chanel brand name, the brand logo and the year ‘99, alongside the words “Made in France”.

This necklace is in very good vintage condition. A good number of the resin stones have irregularities like surface crackling, indentations and very light stratches but as these are present in natural stones, it may be in keeping with the design. No resin beads are chipped or broken. There is a miniscule bit of wear to the gold-plating on the pendant’s hanging loop. The length is not adjustable.
