This 1960s intricately embellished top is tailored to a sleeveless tunic style from inky black wool. It has an elongated silhouette with small slits in the bottom hem which make it perfect for layering over trousers and skirts. The beadwork is exceptional; the hems are detailed with pale gold circle beads and pearls. The body is dotted with sequins in iridescent pearl, gold and silver, alongside patterns which look like sheaves of wheat which are formed of rows of pearls, white and gold circle beads. The back closes with a hidden zip and a hook-and-eye clasp. The original label reads “Franpear” and “Made in Hong Kong”, an area renowned at the time for the quality of its bead and sequin work.

This top is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws to the beadwork or wool. It is labelled a size 38 which equates to around a UK 12 or US 8. The fabric has some stretch so please allow a degree of flexibility on the below measurements. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6-8, US 2-4. This top had plenty of room on her.
