Information & Certificates

Our cashmere comes from the Hircus goats, raised in the highland regions of Inner Mongolia, an area with a warm climate in summer with extremely cold winters. Hircus goats develop a warm, soft and almost impalpable coat: the very fine fibers have a diameter of 15/16 microns and a length of 38mm or more. The Lora & Festa Responsible Cashmere Standard includes all the most important indicators for the ethical treatment of animals and sustainable management in all the territories where our partner farms are located. Each year, all contributors to Lora & Festa’s production chain are called upon to demonstrate their compliance to the principles of Lora & Festa's Cashmere Standard. Each element in our supply chain is continuously checked and controlled. We produce dedicated reports, which enable us to generate a complete production history to monitor our standards.

> The globally recognized Sustainable Fibre Alliance (SFA) ensures the long-term sustainability of the Cashmere industry by minimizing its environmental impact, protecting livelihoods and ensuring high animal welfare standards.
The SFA is a non-profit organization representing a global alliance of supply chain actors, stakeholders and industry experts. Through their work, they aim to address key sustainability and welfare issues related to Cashmere production and to provide assurance of "responsibly produced Cashmere."
In fact, the sustainability of the Cashmere sector is threatened by international demand and changing land use practices, which have led to degraded pastures and lands. The SFA offers a holistic standard that supports farmers and their communities by addressing these issues.

> The Responsible Cashmere Standard (RCS) offers specific sustainability guidelines for goat breeding and cashmere production. The project was made possible by Control Union, a world-renowned independent authority that regulates and grants these kinds of certifications that are not yet widespread in the cashmere industry.
