Workwear was made to last, and this dress is no exception!
This basic workwear dress, comes in a classic style that was utilized from the late 1930's through the 60's (my best guess for this example is late 40's to 50's). The shift style dress has a fully snap-down front closure (also known as a shirtdress or utility dress) and extra large hip pockets. The open collar and sleeveless arms are all design details to allow ease of movement and comfort. The cotton fabric is woven with red warp and white weft threads, giving an all-over pale reddish-to-pink hue, and has a super soft yet medium weight hand. For a little added design detail, thin white trim is topstitched in three rows at neckline and pockets. There is no lining, or other closures, however there are two self-fabric belt loops at either side waist. No labels or maker's marls present. Overall condition is very good to good condition with a few minor issues; both corners of neckline have been repaired, many seams throughout have been reinforced, some chipping o white paint on metal snaps, one small anomaly in center front skirt, moderate crease marks from former hem and some light grey spotting near former hem line. Please see photographs for details.
