This elegant 1990s evening dress is by Arnold Scaasi. Arnold Isaacs, known as Arnold Scaasi, was a Canadian fashion designer who designed dresses for a number of First Ladies and celebrities. His designs were noted for their tailoring and he became synonymous with glamorous evening wear and cocktail dresses. This dress is tailored from dark blue silk taffeta. It has a sensuous off-shoulder cut with a nipped in waist and curve-hugging pencil skirt. The dress is tailored with a sculptural wrap-over front which curves down around the body and around the skirt. The bust is stiff and holds its dramatic shape due to the internal boning. The sleeves are cropped and stiff, two elasticated, fabric-covered straps hold the dress up at the shoulders. There is a belt at the waist in coordinating fabric that has a flat bow which sits on the left side of the waist. The belt fastens with two hook-and-eye clasps and a snap closure. The dress is lined with tonal blue satin throughout.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. It has no size or composition labels and the fabric has no stretch. We believe it would best fit a UK size 10, US size 6.
