This beautiful Zandra Rhodes couture dress and scarf ensemble is cut in really gorgeous shades of green silk chiffon. Her abstract, signature screen-printed fabric is worked by hand in a lime, apple green, white and silvery brown colourway, with delicate threads of sequins and bugle beads running through it. The dress is fitted through to the hip and flares out with overlaid elongated panels, similar to a car wash style which separate when you walk, creating a bohemian and flowing look. It is lined with a pale mint silk that is cut with a similar wide fringe detail and which feels cool and comfortable for the wearer. The style reminds us of the early flapper dresses of the late 1910s and 1920s when women were released from constraining undergarments and fashions moved to a less constructed look. The very long and extravagant scarf is nearly twice the length and one and a half times the width of the dress and can be styled as a shawl, neck scarf or worn separately.

The lady who consigned this dress was a close personal friend of Zandra Rhodes who bespoke designed and made this dress ensemble for her son's wedding around 8 years ago. The dress is in beautiful vintage condition with no stains or flaws to note. Due to its dropped waist, it would fit sizes up to a 10-12 UK, or 6-8 US.
