The Norwegian jewellery designer Albert Scharning was born in Oslo in 1875.
Scharning was a brilliant Scandinavian silversmith whose fine jewellery, especially his handcrafted guilloche enamel jewellery, is highly collectible and desirable.
Albert passed away in 1950 and was succeeded at the company by his son Per Scharning. The company, founded in 1900, ceased to exist in 1980.
This magnificent ice white guilloche enamel double leaf brooch is a mid century modern design that makes me think of the wings of a dove in flight.
The Scandinavian designer brooch is glorious and the white enamel remains beautiful and unchipped more than 75 years later.
The brooch is well marked for Scharning, Norway, 925 silver and the gold gilded back end is also in good vintage condition.
The brooch fitting is the older c-clasp brooch finding.
