The Lundie family has been dealing is Scottish Whisky since 1904. William Lundie & Co. was founded initially as R. D. Lundie & Co. in 1932 by Robert (Bobbie) Lundie — brokering and trading Whiskey across the UK. In between big wholesales deals, they would find spare barrels of high-end Whisky and create private and independent bottlings. This practice goes on to this day. In 2004, the company was acquired by J&G Grant — owners of the Glenfarclas Distillery in Speyside.

The Lismore line includes a collection of Single Malts and Blended Scotch Whiskies produced by William Lundie & Co. The thing is, the Lismore line is famous for keeping the origin of their spirits a closely-held secret. But we can make an educated guess or two. Lismore 21 Year Old is proudly labeled as a Speyside Single Malt aged a full twenty-one years. And this perennial favorite has long been suspected to be sourced from either Glenrothes or Glenfarclas. Since J&G Grant owns both Lundie AND Glenfarclas, we think we know the answer (wink wink). But this is a classic, superbly-aged, and mysterious Speyside Single Malt at a killer price for the age and quality.
