A true Georgian collectors coin brooch.
The coin is a circa 1818, 1819 or 1820 George III solid silver Crown coin.
The St. George slaying the dragon image is expertly enamelled and forms the front of this historic coin brooch. The Latin text that borders the St. George image reads for “Shame on he who thinks evil of it”, with the back of the coin holding the image of George the Third.
The George III image is worn, with the back now holding the silver brooch clasp and the safety chain for secure wear.
This incredible piece of history was only made during the three years of 1818 - 1820 and this one's date is not readable any more. It holds a solid silver weight of 26.2 grams and has a diameter of 38mm.
The enamel depiction of the dragon and horse is in exceptional antique condition, noting that there is slight enamel loss on the blue border - priced accordingly
