This beautiful antique long guard chain dates to the late 19th Century. Crafted from 9ct Gold, it features wonderful tight flat links which are ever so slightly faceted to pick up the light.  

As well as a central dog clip, there is also an additional bale situated at half way along the chain, so more than one pendant/charm  can be added. 

This stunning antique long guard measures its original length of 64 inches long, 4mm wide and it weighs a hefty 50.66g.

Long Guard/Muff Chains have been a fashion staple for over a century, and at this lovely length, they are highly sought after. Their versitility means they can be worn wrapped once, twice or even thrice around the neck, or in a stack with longer or shorter chains. The bolt clip hanging at the bottom of the chain offers yet more possibilities to add pendants or charms.
