The story

Three rings, fringed in palmette feathers.

The Brass Leaves draws its language from the late 19th and early 20th-century European chandelier tradition — the Belle Époque period when designers like Émile Gallé, Daum, and the early Lalique studios established the Art Nouveau vocabulary of natural-form decoration, marrying organic motifs (palmette fronds, acanthus leaves, ginkgo branches) with the precision of metal armatures. Tiered round-frame chandeliers from this period hung in Parisian apartments, café interiors, and grand hotel lobbies as both lighting and ornament.

Here that vocabulary is reset in a clean modern profile. Each opaque-glass "leaf" is press-molded with a vertical fluted texture that catches and softens bulb light into a row of luminous palm fronds — diffused rather than fragmented, warm rather than sparkling. The three brass rings descend tier by tier, each smaller than the one above, with an acanthus-leaf metal crown circling the upper rim of each ring like a small ornamental cornice. Pairs effortlessly with traditional, transitional, neoclassical, modern luxe, Hollywood Regency, and warm-eclectic interiors.

Frequently asked

Quick questions.

What is the heritage behind this chandelier?

The Brass Leaves draws on the late 19th and early 20th-century European Art Nouveau / Belle Époque chandelier tradition — the period when natural-form motifs (palmette fronds, acanthus leaves) were combined with brass armatures and pressed-glass techniques to create chandeliers as both lighting and ornament. The design vocabulary appeared throughout grand Parisian apartments and hotel interiors of that era.

Independently designed and manufactured by Dekorfine in the spirit of that tradition, with our own modern proportions and construction.

Which size should I choose?

45 cm: 4-person dining tables, master bedrooms, smaller foyers, breakfast nooks. Reads as ornamental jewel-scale.
60 cm: standard 6-person dining tables, mid-sized living rooms, mid-sized foyers. The most versatile size.
80 cm: grand foyers, 8+ person dining tables, double-height entryways, formal great rooms. Best with ceilings 2.7 m / 9 ft or higher so the three tiers can read at full proportion.

For dining tables, pick a chandelier diameter roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the table's narrow dimension.

What kind of bulb works best?

E14 small Edison screw bulbs — LED candle or filament style recommended (halogen E14 also compatible if preferred for traditional warmth). Choose warm color temperature 2700K-3000K so the opaque glass leaves glow with rich warm light — cooler bulbs read clinical and lose the vintage character.

Because the glass is opaque rather than transparent, bulb shape matters less than with crystal — the glass itself diffuses the light, so frosted, candle, or filament bulbs all work equally well visually.

Dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and an LED-rated wall dimmer — dimming is essential for evening dining ambiance.

What does "opaque glass" mean — is it like crystal?

The glass is opaque (semi-translucent), not clear crystal — meaning it diffuses light into a soft warm glow rather than refracting it into rainbow facets the way clear crystal does. The texture of the glass is fluted (vertical raised ridges molded into the surface) which catches the light into faint vertical lines along each leaf without creating sharp prism effects.

The result is softer and warmer than a clear-crystal chandelier — better suited to vintage / Art Nouveau / Belle Époque interiors, less suited to ultra-modern crystal-glamour aesthetics.

How do I clean the glass leaves?

Switch off and let cool, then dust each leaf gently with a soft microfiber cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a 50/50 distilled water + mild dish soap mix applied to the cloth (not directly sprayed onto the lamp). Rinse the cloth and wipe again to remove any soap residue.

Avoid abrasive cleaners or paper towels which can scratch the brass finish over time. The fluted glass texture catches dust along its ridges — a soft brush attachment on a vacuum (low setting) helps for deep dust without contact.
