Amahagan World Malt Edition No. 5 Sherry Wood Finish Whisky 70cl

A blended malt whisky containing both Japanese and foreign whiskies produced by one of Japan's smallest and youngest distilleries, Nagahama. Eagle-eyed customers may notice that the name of this range, Amahagan, is Nagahama backwards. What larks! This edition is finished in sherry casks before bottling at 47% ABV with not chill-filtering or colour added.

Tasting Notes

Nose : Impressive aroma of ripe fruit and fresh-baked apple. Brown sugar, dried citrus fruits, freshly grated leather.

Palate : Smooth taste with a tangy end of strawberry jam and end of sweetness.
Swirling aromas of maple syrup and raisin over flow as the time pass by.

Finish : Lingering finish sings with dryness and gentle species which come from cask maturation.

About Amahagan

Amahagan is a brand of blended malt whisky produced by the small Nagahama Distillery in Japan, which was founded in 2016. The name "Amahagan" is an anagram of "Nagahama," and the brand's World Malt series blends whiskies made at the Nagahama distillery with single malts from around the world. The distillery uses small, uniquely shaped stills that have been nicknamed "aranbics" due to their resemblance to Arabic architecture.
