1960's Sally Victor hat in a floral pattern of gray, brown, tan and beige. Fabric is a soft felt. Crown is indented and the sides are styled to indent on one side and be straight on the opposite.

Interior is finished with a bright red acetate lining and a gray grosgrain ribbon.

Excellent condition showing no wear or age.

Inner circumference is 21 1/2 inches. Measuring on the outside, side to side is 13 inches.

The following information is provided courtesy of the Vintage Fashion Guild Label Resource. Sally Victor (1905-1977) first started making hats at Macy’s in 1924, then for L. Bamberger & Co. She opened her own millinery business on 53rd Street ,NYC in 1934 which grew to become one of the largest hat companies in the USA. In the early 1950s Victor’s Airwaves hat, which resembled a cut-out pie crust, was popularized when Mamie Eisenhower wore one to the Presidential inauguration. A new, lower-cost line which was geared toward a younger customer, Sally V, was launched in the 1950s. The business closed in 1965.
