The Pachira is a plant with many nicknames. Thus it is called Water Cocoa or Money Tree. The plant got this name because in the Far East it is thought that the leaves could catch money. That makes this plant an ideal gift for a birthday, housewarming or wedding. It is therefore often referred to as the 'happiness tree'. Pachira is a true tropical plant. It is native to the swamps of eastern Brazil, Panama and Costa Rica. Here the plant can grow up to 20 meters high.With its beautiful large leaves and finely woven trunks, it is a beautiful and special plant. Both the glossy green, palmately divided leaves and the nuts are eaten. The Pachira makes a relatively thin and flexible trunk, which can be braided.
