Setsubun, meaning "seasonal division," is a traditional Japanese event that marks the transition from winter to spring, celebrated annually around February 3rd. It is believed to bring good fortune and drive away evil spirits. A key ritual during Setsubun is throwing roasted soybeans, known as mamemaki, while chanting "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" (Demons out! Fortune in!).
