This beer began as an experiment in patience. At its core is a low-roasted stout, which rested for 13 months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels. Time brought soft vanilla, gentle oak, and a warm, rounded structure. Alongside, a barleywine, fermented with an IPA yeast, matured in carefully selected cognac barrels. It added a full, almost syrupy softness with lively stone fruit of peach and apricot. The cognac barrels bring elegance, layered in notes of marshmallow, vanilla, and soft oak, as if fruit is slowly becoming marmalade. Finished with an imperial stout that matured for 800 days in Wyoming Whiskey barrels. The roast softened to toast and nuts, with a sweet, almost jammy warmth reminiscent of sherry. Complex yet perfectly balanced, with notes of stone fruit, dates, vanilla, and yellow fruit marmalade. Beneath it lies a contemplative depth, as if walking through an old library and catching the whispers of tobacco and time itself among dusty bookshelves. This beer does not scream. It unfolds. Slowly.
